The updated Judges' List is formatted in such a way that it is intended to help Show Secretaries in making an informed decision on their choice of Judge(s). Judges have initially been divided into county areas. Within each county area the decisions are made by the level at which they have been approved to judge, starting with the HOYS level, then County level judges, Riding Club level and finally Probationers. Judges may be invited to judge at a lower level than stated, but may NOT be invited to judge above their stated level ( HOYS judges may be asked to judge at any show, however a category B judge may not judge above Riding Club level).

2 The KEY and OTHER PANEL ABBREVIATIONS as shown below are included within the Judges' List in order to assist in the selection of Judges; allowing for easy selection of a judge/judges who are able to preside over other sections at the Show as well as the CHAPS classes. CHAPS levels/categories are stated in bold typeface. KEY to CHAPS Judging Categories: H = HOYS Judge A = County level shows B = Riding Club level shows (P) = Probationary SH = Sports Horse SP/WH = Style & Performance/Working Hunters SS = Side Saddle Br = Breeding H(R&C) = HOYS Ride & Conformation. Judge who can tide the exhibits and/or assess conformation.

3 H(S&C) = HOYS Judge who can judge a ridden show from the ground (but not actually ride exhibits) and assess conformation (however, cannot judge a HOYS Ridden section but may ride at A or B level). A(R&C) = County level Ride & Conformation Judge who can ride exhibits and/or assess conformation. A(S&C) = County level. Can judge ridden show from the ground (but not actually ride exhibits) and assess conformation. B(R&C) = Riding Club level Ride & Conformation Judge who can ride exhibits and/or assess conformation. B(S&C) = Riding Club level. Can judge show from the ground (but not actually ride exhibits) and assess conformation.
