2 In occupan-cies where plumbing fixtures are installed for publicuse, hot water shall be required for bathing and washingpurposes. This requirement shall not supersede therequirements for individual temperature control limita-tions for public lavatories, bidets, bathtubs, whirlpoolbathtubs and shower control Hot Water Recirculation. Hot water supplysystems in four-story buildings or higher, or buildingswhere the developed length of hot water piping from thesource of hot water supply to the farthest fixture sup-plied exceeds 100 feet, shall be of the return Identification of a Potable and NonpotableWater buildings where potable water andnonpotable water systems are installed, each system shallbe clearly identified in accordance with Section Section Potable Water.

4 Alternatewater source systems shall have a purple (Pantonecolor No. 512, 522C, or equivalent) backgroundwith uppercase lettering and shall be field or fac-tory marked as follows:(1) Gray water systems shall be marked in accor-dance with this section with the words CAU-TION: NONPOTABLE GRAY WATER, DONOT DRINK in yellow letters (Pantone 108or equivalent).(2) Reclaimed (recycled) water systems shall bemarked in accordance with this section withthe words: CAUTION: NONPOTABLERECLAIMED (RECYCLED) WATER, DONOT DRINK in black letters.(3) On-site treated water systems shall be markedin accordance with this section with thewords: CAUTION: ON-SITE TREATEDNONPOTABLE WATER, DO NOT DRINK in yellow letters (Pantone 108 or equivalent).

5 (4) Rainwater catchment systems shall be markedin accordance with this section with thewords: CAUTION: NONPOTABLE RAIN-WATER WATER, DO NOT DRINK in yel-low letters (Pantone 108 or equivalent). Fixtures. Where vacuum breakers or back-flow preventers are installed with fixtures listed inTable , identification of the discharge side shallbe permitted to be omitted. Outlets. Water used for cooling orheating of equipment or other purposes shall not bereturned to the potable water system. 10 The devicesor assemblies shall be tested at the time of installation,repair, or relocation and not less than on an annual schedulethereafter, or more often where required by the AuthorityHaving Jurisdiction. Where found to be defective or inoper-ative, the device or assembly shall be repaired or device or assembly shall be removed from use or relo-cated, or other device or assembly substituted, without theapproval of the Authority Having shall be performed by a certified backflowassembly tester in accordance with ASSE Series Backflow Prevention Devices, Assemblies,and Air minimum air gap to affordbackflow protection shall be in accordance with Atmospheric Vacuum Breaker (AVB).
