1 JOB DESCRIPTION (Date) POSITION TITLE: Computer Operations Specialist REPORTS TO: I. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs activities involved in coordinating Computer Operations processing systems and procedures to ensure that processing efficiency and user satisfaction are maintained. II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Actual duties and responsibilities vary. As directed, performs duties such as those outlined below: Acts as a technical liaison between the Operations division and applications/systems analysts, manufacturers' representatives, company engineers, and department management. Coordinates the processing of testing procedures for new and modified applications and software systems. Recommends programming sequence and equipment changes to improve the utilization of processing time. Recommends and coordinates hardware and configuration, as well as modifications to assure adherence to manufacturers' guidelines and conformity with the physical layout of equipment.

2 Observes and reports equipment performance deficiencies, coordinates equipment repairs, and suggests alternate hardware devices. Recommends and coordinates implementation of changes in processing procedures. Prepares, evaluates, and modifies processing schedules, which involves appraising available equipment/personnel, job mixes, and job priorities. Prepares, maintains, and analyzes production statistics. Prepares and monitors hardware maintenance schedules and procedures. Prepares/performs various administrative reports/activities ( , attendance, overtime, vacation, payroll, equipment status). Assists with development and administration of training programs for Operations division personnel. Performs the duties of the senior Computer operator position, as necessary. II. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Comprehensive knowledge of the company's production environment and its relationship with other areas.

3 Ability to determine the origin of all processing problems and delays and to initiate corrective action.
