Sew the A and D rectangles together along the long edge. Press. Cut the A/D strip into 8 segments 13/4" x 3". Sew 2 A/D segments together as illustrated. Press. Repeat to make 4 four-patches (3" x 3").2. Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of the B squares.
2 Place a B square on the top right corner of an E rectangle. Sew along the drawn line. Trim away excess fabric, leaving a 1/4" seam allowance. Press. Repeat to make 4 B/E rectangles (13/4" x 3").Repeat this process placing the B square with the top left corner of the E rectangle. Repeat to make 4 B/E reversed rectangles (13/4" x 3").3. Place a B square on the top left corner of an F square . Sew along the drawn line. Trim away excess fabric, leaving a 1/4" seam allowance. Press. Repeat with another B square on the top right corner. Repeat to make 4 Unit 1 (3" x 3").4. Sew an H rectangle to the left and right sides of the G square . Press. Sew a C square to both ends of an H rectangle. Press. Repeat to make 2 C/H/C sections. Sew the 3 sections as illustrated to make 1 nine-patch (51/2" x 51/2"). Sew a B/E rectangle to the left side of a Unit 1 and a B/E reversed rectangle to the right side as illustrated. Press. Repeat to make 4 (3" x 51/2").6. Lay out pieces and sew as illustrated.
