Historical Context: SECTIONALISM is term used to describe a certain loyalty to the interests of one's own region or section of a country, rather than the nation as a whole. During the first half of the 19th century, SECTIONALISM became an increasing problem in the United States of America.

Task: Using information from the documents and your knowledge of United States History and Government, answer the questions that follow each DOCUMENT in Part A.
