License Manager is a DocuPhase tool for making the assignment and Administration of product licenses simpler and more effective for Authorized DocuPhase Platform Licensing Administrators. Purpose and Assumptions The purpose of the Licensing Administration Guide is to provide information on how to use and administer License Manager . This Guide outlines how to: Load a new product License . view a current License . Update the License key. view machine identification. The following are assumptions made with regard to the reading audience for this Guide : The reader is typically a DocuPhase Platform Administrator; However, the user must be an Authorized DocuPhase Platform Licensing Administrator.

4 The reader has received at least one week of DocuPhase provided training. The reader has used the DocuPhase software product for a period of no less than one month. The DocuPhase Platform architecture also includes many open-source licensed component capabilities provided by other vendors/contributers. These component License specifications are listed in Appendix A of this Guide . Navigate to the License Manager icon on your desktop. Note: The Login to License Manager dialog window displays. 2. Type in the appropriate User Name and Password. 3. Select Manage. Note: The Alias Manager dialog window displays. 4. Type in the appropriate Server Name. 5. Select Load. 6. Select OK. Note: The Login to License Manager dialog displays. License Manager Administration Guide Page 8 of 43 The License Manager Main Screen The Main Screen When the License Manager displays its home screen, the existing licenses are summarized on its scrollable page, as shown below.

Note: A Select License File dialog window displays. Exit Provides the ability to exit License Manager . License Manager Administration Guide Page 10 of 43 The view Menu The view Menu consists of two options: view Current License File view Other License File Element License Manager view Menu Description view Current License File Provides the ability to view the current License information for the current server.

7 Note: This view provides more detail than the Main Screen view , since it includes the quantity of each type of License that is defined in the list. view Other License File Provides the ability to view the License information from a selected saved License file. License Manager Administration Guide Page 11 of 43 The Help Menu The Help Menu consists of one option: About Selecting this option provides a brief description of License Manager by listing the product name, company name and version. Loaded Licenses The License Manager dialog window displays all currently loaded product licenses. License Manager Administration Guide Page 12 of 43 Element Loaded Licenses Listing Description License Type Displays the License type for a Named User or a Named Machine.

8 The Named User provides the ability to assign the License by a specific username. The Named Machine provides the ability to assign the License by the specific client machine on your Network. Additionally, for any License that utilizes a named user, when the user has logged into the application, the In Use By column displays the logged in user. Furthermore, if the License has been assigned to a specific client machine, the In Use By column will display the named machine and may change for desktop applications. License Name Displays the licensed user or machine name. License Manager Administration Guide Page 13 of 43 Element Loaded Licenses Listing Description Product Displays the name of the licensed product. Version Displays the version number of the licensed product. In Use By Displays the machine name or the named users associated with the licensed product.

Note: When a new License is generated, the start date column will refresh with the new date. Expiration Date Displays the date the licensed product will expire. Properties This field displays product License details, created from the License Generator. Additionally, each licensed product has a different property value. The table below describes each of the License property values. License Manager Administration Guide Page 15 of 43 Element License Property Values Listing Description AutoAllocate When the Auto Allocate is equal to True, the License will automatically be assigned to the user or a machine when there isn t a currently assigned License .

10 Has OCR When True indicates that iLink is licensed to use OCR to read text. License Manager Administration Guide Page 16 of 43 Element License Property Values Listing Description Allow Indexer When True indicates that iScan indexer functionality is enabled for the user. Rules Acknowledged The number of defined rules that iAlerts will recognize. Support Compound Documents If a License allows support for compound documents it means that a binder can process more than one type of document definition. For example, this functionality enables iDox to have two different documents within the same binder. Consequently, although Progression uses the same concept of documents and binders, it does not utilize this compound License property. Maximum Document Definitions This determines how many document definitions can be created within a workspace.
