3 Cleaning of equipmentAfter use, remove as much product as possible, and thenclean immediately withDulux Brush Cleaner Degreaseror Mineral for cement plaster, gypsum plaster, concrete, fibrecement, PVC, galvanised iron (non-roof sheeting),ferrous metal and wooden surfaces provided thatappropriate preparation and priming is carried :Do not apply during cold (below 10 C) or wet not apply directly to substrate without suitable for direct application to powdery or friablesurfaces whether previously painted or RequiredApply two to three finishing coats to new surfaces toachieve a closed film and solid PREPARATIONE nsure that surfaces are sound and free from dust, oil, grease, dirt, and debris. Surfacesmust be thoroughly dry - no more than 12% moisture SURFACESC ement Plaster (non-friable), Composite Boarding and Fibre Cement It is recommended that fresh plaster should be allowed one week drying for every 5mmthickness; and longer in cold or damp weather.

4 Spot-prime metal strips and nail heads with appropriate metal primer. Prime with one coatof DULUX Plaster Primer orDulux Trade Plaster Primer, followedby one coat ofDulux Universal UndercoatorDulux Trade Universal GLOSS ENAMELPage3 of6 SURFACE PREPARATIONG ypsum Plaster (non-friable) Ensure the gypsum plaster is sound and non-friable and cured as per the manufacturedof the gypsum plaster specifications. Apply one coat DULUX Plaster Primer or DULUX Trade Alkali Resistant gypsum plastercould require more primer coats to achieve correct bindingand sealing Remove any uncured cement, grease, and mould release agents by high-pressurewater blast, or wash with a strong solution ofDulux Sugar Soap /water solution.

5 Rinseoff thoroughly with clean water and allow drying out. For best paint system performance prime with one full coatDulux Plaster PrimerorTrade Alkali Resistant Iron, Aluminium and all non-ferrous metals (non-roof sheeting) For unpainted but weathered galvanised iron - Remove all loose rust and scale bymeans of wire brushing, sanding, chipping, or mechanical scouring - down to brightmetal. Remove all traces of temporary protective coating, dirt, grease, salts and zinc corrosion(white rust) from the surface withDulux Galvanised Iron completeremoval of DULUX Galvanised Iron Cleanerby rinsing with running water. A water-break free surface indicates thorough cleaning - running water should not form a water-break free surface was not achieved, repeat the cleaning process.

6 Primeimmediately after cleaning. Prime with one to two coatsDulux Galvanised Iron Primerdepending on the severityof the conditions. Two coats recommended for coastal conditions and chemical works. For best paint system performance follow primer withDulux Universal Undercoatbefore applying the selected finishing Steel and Iron Inspect shop-primer thoroughly for damage by installation. All rust, scale and dirt mustbe removed by scraping or with steel wire brushes, and then thoroughly sand withmedium grit sandpaper and finish with fine grit sandpaper - down to a bright metal that the sanded areas are dry and free of grease and dust. A solvent wash (ragsdipped in lacquer thinner) may be used.

7 Change the rags frequently. Allow drying. Prime with one to two coatsDulux Steel Primer, depending on the severity of theconditions. Two coats recommended for coastal conditions and chemical works. For best paint system performance follow primer withDulux Universal Undercoatbefore applying the selected finishing GLOSS ENAMELPage4 of6 SURFACE PREPARATIONR igid PVC Surfaces Lightly sand surfaces to improve adhesion. Clean and degrease withDulux SugarSoap/water solution. Rinse thoroughly with water and allow drying. Prime with one coatDulux SupergripWooden Surfaces Timber treated with borer- or fire retardant may cause slow drying (consult supplier). Treat knots in timber with Knotting Agent.

8 Spot prime nail heads withDulux Steel Primer. Special attention must be given to painting the end grain to avoid moisture penetration -apply a second coat after 10 - 20 minutes. Prime with one coatDulux Wood Primer. Two coats may be required for veryabsorbent wood. For best paint system performance followDulux Wood Primer withDulux UniversalUndercoat before applying the selected finishing PAINTED SURFACESGood Condition, not powdery Remove all rust scale back by most suitable means back to bright clean metal orgalvanised surface. Any loose and flaking paint must be removed back to a soundsubstrate and firm edges by scraping and sanding. Treat as for new Paint in Poor Condition Completely remove all loose and flaking paint.

9 Remove oil, grease dirt or any other contaminants withDulux Sugar Soap/watersolution and allow drying. Friable surfaces must be removed and repaired. Chalked surfaces must be thoroughly brushed or prepared with high pressure watercleaning. NOTE: While this product can be used for sealing exterior chalked or slightlyfriable surfaces, it will not penetrate thick layers of powdery BondingLiquid, which is un-pigmented, is preferred. Mould instructions. To kill lichen and algae growth, scrub with one of the followingsolutions: either 4:1 water/chlorine, or 4:1 water/sodium hypochlorite. Ensure that theareas are completely saturated, and allow the solution to react for a minimum of 4 the complete wall surface thoroughly with clean water and allow drying.

10 Prime all exposed areas with appropriate primer as for new surfacesDULUX GLOSS ENAMELPage5 of6 FILLINGFill all imperfections with the appropriateDulux Pre-Paint filler and spot prime filled areaswithDulux Plaster Primer once the crack filler has dried properly. Failure to do this willresult in uneven sheen levels between the repaired and normal AND SAFETY INFORMATIONThis product contains no added lead. Avoid contact with skin or eyes. Keep out of reach ofchildren. If accidently swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show this containerto the doctor. Dry sanding, flame cutting and/or welding of the dry paint film will give rise todust and/or hazardous exposure cannot be avoided by the provision of local exhaust ventilation, suitablerespiratory protective equipment should be used.
