To avoidthis, check the adhesion of the old paint by cutting an 'X' through a clean area of the film with a sharp knife, press cellulose tape firmlyacross the cut and rip it off. If the old paint comes off with the tape it should be removed before repainting.

3 Remove dust, grease, and anyloose or flaking paint by scrubbing with a solution of Dulux House Wash using a stiff bristle brush (not a wire brush). Rinse with waterand allow to dry. Apply 1 coat of Steelite Galv. Iron Primer to any bare surfaces. Remove any red rust with a wire brush and spot primewith a suitable GALVANISED IRON, ROOFING, DOWNPIPES & GUTTERING (ZINCALUME)Wash with detergent in water using a stiff bristle brush (not a wire brush). Rinse with water and allow to dry. Remove any red rust with awire brush and spot prime with a suitable primer. Galvanised iron must not be left to weather , particularly in salt or chemical areas.

4 Forbest results, especially in coastal or geothermal areas, the application of 1 coat of Steelite Galv. Iron Primer is IRONR emove all rust by scraping, sanding or wire brushing.
