2 Responding EMS personnel are in a unique position to help reduce the number of Elderly falls. Unlike facility-based healthcare providers, EMS personnel frequently access patients in their homes. Seeing the layout of the fall location firsthand allows for an assessment of not just the individual but also the patient s surroundings and an opportunity to intervene and prevent future Elderly fall Prevention Resource Guide ( ) is intended to assist EMS providers across Ohio with linking this at-risk population to community-based fall Prevention services and other related resources.
