I love getting to know them and their families. Tammy also loves the team atmosphere among her coworkers. Everyone does what they need to get done and everyone helps everyone, said Tammy. 3 This is a new and innovative procedure that reduces the risk of stroke while clearing blockages in a patient s carotid artery while also providing a faster recovery time than traditionally prevalent methods include carotid endarterectomy, which is the most common way to remove plaque from the carotid artery and accounts for over 90% of procedures nationwide. It requires a modest incision in the neck in order to open the carotid artery to remove any well-known option is angioplasty and stent placement via the femoral artery. This procedure places a catheter in the groin, which is moved through the artery to the blockage. A smaller catheter with a very small balloon is placed through the first catheter, then inflated to open the artery. Stents may also be placed to keep the artery open. The drawback of this procedure is the danger of plaque breaking loose and flowing into the brain, increasing the chance of Artery Revascularization, known as TCAR, involves a small incision above the collarbone, where a sheath is placed in the carotid artery.

4 It is connected to a system that reverses the flow of blood away from the brain. The balloon angioplasty and stenting is then performed while blood flow is reversed, with the blood traveling through a filter outside the body that removes any plaque and debris before returning it through the vein in the patient s thigh. Once the procedure is complete, blood flow is returned in the normal of TCAR include: Reduced risk of stroke Minimally-invasive with a smaller incision Shorter procedure Shorter hospital stay and recovery Clinically proven option for patients who are at risk with a traditional carotid endarterectomy due to age, medical condition or anatomical issuesWe are very proud of Dr. Mouawad and the vascular surgery team for this accomplishment!ANNUAL HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION & PUMPKIN DECORATING CONTESTJoin the contest! The 4th annual 5K Walk run will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at mclaren Bay Region Uptown. 2019 EMPLOYEE FUND DRIVE CONTINUES every one of her patients and does way more than she has to , by setting up rides to Chemo, and scheduling patients for times that work for them in between their radiation, work schedules, and other appointments. She is a friendly face and has an upbeat personality - just what a cancer patient needs. We all love working with her and know that when you ask her to do something, that it will be done right. Tammy is always trying to make things as easy as possible for the patients. There is so much calculating that I do in my job, said Tammy. A lot of our patients are coming from a distance and I try to schedule their appointments, so they are making as few trips as possible. In her free time, Tammy likes to ride her motorcycle and help her boyfriend work on cars. Tammy also spends as much time as she can with her granddaughter.

7 I love playing with her, said Tammy. We like to make a mess in the kitchen and make cookies together. Tammy would like to thank her coworkers for this nomination. Thank you for always being there to help and to answer questions, said Tammy. You are the best team that I could ask for.
