Introducion The Ethiopian Conformity assessment enterprise (ECAE) is empowered to establish and operate a national Conformity assessment system under article 5 sub article 1 of the Ethiopian Conformity assessment enterprise Establishment Council of Ministers Regulation No. 196/2010 . Accordingly the Certification Directorate which is one of the functions of the ECAE is mandated to discharge all the responsibilities associated with management system certification in line with the provisions of this regulation.

2 ECAE Certification is an independent third-party management system certification and it does not, at any stage, provide consultancy services or training for the establishment of management systems. It provides management system certification services based on its defined scopes of certification. The scope of certification of a company registered with ECAE CD specifies the range of that company's assessed capability & conformance to the nominated standard. 2. Strategy and process The value of ECAE management system Certification is the degree of public confidence and trust which is established by customer focus, the integrity of its leadership, operating principles as well as impartial and competent assessments.

Competence, impartiality, confidentiality, openness, responsibility, responsiveness to complaints and risk based thinking are core operating principles which we commit ourselves to. We commit ourselves to the establishment, implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of an accredited management system based on the international requirements for certification bodies, namely ISO/IEC 17021, ISO/IEC 14001and ISO/TS 22003.

8 Our Goals and Quality Objectives. Our goal is to enhance and support both domestic and international trade through providing an accredited and therefore internationally accepted management system certification of products and services which will be carried out in line with the defined scopes of accreditation. This goal will be achieved by implementing management system best practices and ensuring continual improvement with our organization. 10 The official colors of the logo are red and blue. Currently the certification logo is used only in association with Quality Management System Certification and the others will be picked-up as ECAE management system Certification further establishes demonstrated competence corresponding to the requirements of the relevant international standards.
