To make the center panel block, place one 92" Fabric C square on the top left corner of one 182" Fabric I square, right sides together (Fig. 1). Sew across the diagonal of the smaller square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 1). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 2). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle 1/4" away from the sewn Follow Figure 3 for the seam direction to add a 92" Fabric C square to each of the remaining corners of the 18-1/2 Fabric I square to make one 182" center panel block (Fig.)

Trim the Fabric D strips even with the panel top and bottom Sew one 22" x 72" Fabric D strip to the top and bottom of the Fabric A square (Fig. 6). Trim the framed block to measure 62" x 62" to make one A/D block (Fig. 7).5. Repeat Steps 3-4 to make eight A/D framed blocks total (Fig. 8).6. 6 9).Pinwheel Blocks7. Place one 3f" Fabric G square on top of one 3f" Fabric H square, right sides together. Draw a line across the diagonal of the top square (Fig. 10). Sew 1/4 away from each side of the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 10). Cut the two squares apart on the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 11) to make two half-square triangles (Fig. 12). Repeat to make thirty-two G/H half-square triangle blocks. Trim blocks to measure 32".8. Repeat Step 7 with twenty-four Fabric E squares and twenty-four Fabric F squares to make forty-eight E/F half-square triangles (Fig. 13).9. Follow Figure 14 to sew together four Fabric G/H half-square triangles to make one 62" G/H Pinwheel Block.
7 Repeat to make eight G/H Pinwheel Blocks Follow Figure 15 to sew together four Fabric E/F half-square triangles to make one 62" E/F Pinwheel Block. Repeat to make twelve E/F Pinwheel Blocks Top11. Refer to the quilt photo and sew together two G/H pinwheel blocks and one A/D Framed block, alternating them to make one side border. Repeat to make a second side border. Sew the borders to each side of the 182" center panel block from Step Sew together two G/H pinwheel blocks and three A/D framed blocks, alternating them to make the top border. Repeat to make the bottom border.
8 Sew the borders to the 182" Center Panel Block to make the 302" x 302" quilt Sew together three E/F pinwheel blocks and two A/C framed blocks, alternating them to make a side border. Repeat to make a second side border. Sew the borders to the quilt Sew together three E/F pinwheel blocks and four A/C framed blocks, alternating them to make the top border. Repeat to make the bottom border. Repeat to make four border strips Center one border strip on one side of the quilt top, aligning the Fabric J strip with the raw edge of the quilt top. Start sewing the strip a 4" from the top edge of the quilt top and stop a 4" from the bottom edge. DO NOT TRIM THE EXCESS. Repeat with the opposite Repeat Step 16 to sew one border strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top, making sure to stop and start 4" away from each end of the quilt top.
10 To miter each corner, fold the quilt top on a diagonal wrong side together. is should line up the strips from adjacent sides (Fig. 16).18. Starting at the sewn seam (represented by the arrow in Figure 16) draw a 45 line out to the edge of the fabric. Sew on the drawn line. Trim the excess fabric leaving a 4" seam. Repeat this step with the remaining cornersFinishing the Quilt19. Layer and quilt as desired. Sew the six 22" x 42" Fabric C strips together end-to-end with a 45 seams to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press.
