They understand the reciprocal impact of individual and Family participation in community activities. Candidates understand career development concepts, the relationship between work and learning, and the career planning process.

Candidates use ethical reasoning processes, individually and collaboratively, to take responsible action in families, workplaces, and communities. Standard 2 Consumer Economics and Resource Management. HSC 4410 Consumer Economics 3 Candidates evaluate decisions and management practices related to HSC 4420 Personal and Family Management 3 using human, economic, and environmental resources in a technologically expanding, global economy.

5 Supporting Explanation Candidates examine economic fundamentals and the reciprocal relationships between Consumer behaviors and economic factors. They explain legislation that affects individuals and families and processes by which public policies are developed and implemented. Candidates analyze the impact of Consumer laws, practices, rights, and responsibilities on the lives of individuals and the environment.

6 They demonstrate management of individual and Family resources to provide for food, clothing, shelter, health care, education, recreation, transportation, child and elder care, and other Family needs and wants across the lifespan. Candidates use financial management processes in budgeting, banking, comparative shopping, saving, investing, using credit, purchasing insurance, and paying taxes. 8 CDFS 3320 Family Relations 3 Candidates communicate the significance of the Family and its CDFS 4340 Contemporary Family 3 impact on the well-being of individuals and society. CDFS 4350 Parenting 3 Supporting Explanation Candidates analyze the impact of the Family as a unique, dynamic system on individuals across the life span. They analyze diverse perspectives, needs, and characteristics of individuals and families. Candidates evaluate the interrelationships of diverse families and other institutions, such as educational, governmental, religious, and occupational institutions.
