It just so happenedthat Ken s Truck was the only qualifiedentry in the 2005 Contest , which madethe judging kind of easy. Early on, an-other Truck was sent in, but it was usedmostly for sales calls and hauling ma-terials. Since the Fence Truck Contestis open only to installer trucks, Ken swas the only vehicle that fit that the fact that the Chevy sewedit up all by itself does not detract fromthe solid vehicle that has paid for itselfover and again during its 15 years onthe job. Our Truck recently had amakeover. It has been converted froma four speed on the floor to an auto-matic on the column.

A rebuilt 350cubic inch motor and transmission isnow installed. Dan, our mechanic, hadmany variables to overcome for this up-grade. Rocky, our auto body man, willsoon be giving it a fresh coat of paint, said Quitinsky. Q Fence Co. has been using thistruck for 15 years now. It is a moneymaker and will now enter a new statein its life cycle, he Chevy has a metal sand boxwelded right to the bed of the Truck , andthe crew finds it easy to off-load mate-rial from the low profile open noted in the November issue ofWorld Fence News, when this entry firstappeared, the Q Fence Co.

Crew bearsThe crew of QFence Co. poses with its 1975 Chevy flatbed Truck , which was namedFence Truck of the year for 2005. Stephanie Wanamaker (with diggers) has beenwith the firmfor eight years. Donna Spotts (on the bed) is a nine- year veteran, andis super with customer relations, according to owner Ken Quitinsky (kneeling, posing, whatever). Ken has owned Q Fence for 15 years, and has been in the busi-ness for 25. Tara Murphy (on top of Truck ) has been with Q Fence for three Haynes (kneeling), is a four- year employee and wears dual hats as secre-tary and Fence installer.

Q Fence does a lot of vinyl, as well as chain link and alu-minum, and stays busy. They do some wood, but not in the high season, whenthey focus on higher margin items.(Q Fence Co. photos)Vinyl is a specialty of Q Fence , and allthe crew members are trained to oper-ate any of the equipment necessary forthe job, from tractors to They are all females, and Kensaid they take as much pride in keep-ing the Truck in good working order asthey do in their installations. All the Fence girls are hard-work-ing installers and like keeping the truckin good working condition, he said.

As a token of our appreciation andin recognition of a great Fence Truck , QFence will receive a special engravedplaque to hang on their wall. Or maybedisplay at the one-hole golf course thatKen built behind his shop. Congrats, Q Fence !
