Retain this instruction manual for future Warranty Thank you very much for purchasing the instrument. Please consult your Shimadzu representative for information about the extent of the warranty. Shimadzu will repair the instrument or provide replacement parts free of charge if any malfunction attributable to Shimadzu occurs within the warranty period. However, malfunctions described below are not subject to the warranty. 1) The instrument is mishandled. 2) Repair or alteration is carried out by a party other than Shimadzu. 3) A malfunction is caused by reasons other than the instrument.
4) The instrument is used in an environment with high temperatures, humidity, corrosive gases, and/or vibration. 5) A malfunction is caused by a fire, earthquake, or other unforeseeable natural disasters. 6) The instrument is dropped or exposed to strong vibration or shock. 7) Consumable parts or alike Safety Precautions The matters described below need to be carefully followed in order to prevent danger to users and others as well as property damage. Degree of danger and damage caused by disregarding the descriptions or incorrect usage of the instrument are classified into two categories as shown below. Indicates a potentially hazardous situation WARNING which, if not avoided, could result in serious injury or possibly death.
Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may result in minor to CAUTION moderate injury or equipment damage. Type of matters to be followed are classified by the symbol marks shown below. The below are examples of symbol marks. Do NOT Unplug the Power Disassemble. Cord. This symbol mark This symbol mark This symbol mark indicates indicates things to be indicates things that things that need to be careful about. need to be avoided. executed. WARNING. This instrument is an Ionizer specifically for Electronic Balances . Do NOT use the instrument for other purposes. This instrument is not explosion-proof. Do NOT. install it in a place where corrosive or flammable gases or solvents are used.
There is a risk of ignition or explosion. This instrument is a high-voltage product. Do NOT. install it in a place with water, oil, high temperature/humidity, or large amounts of dust. Especially avoid areas with condensation. Do NOT touch the electrode probes when the power is ON since it may cause an electric shock. (Described on the label on the left side of the main unit.). If there is smoke, a burning smell, the instrument becomes extremely hot, or the LED on the left front Unplug the lights up red, immediately turn OFF the main switch Power Cord on the back and unplug the AC adapter plug from outlet. If water or foreign matter gets inside the instrument, immediately turn OFF the power switch and unplug Unplug the Power Cord.
The power cord of the handy switch. Handle the electrode probes and outputs with care because they have high voltage. Do NOT reconfigure the instrument. It may cause an Do NOT. accident, electric shock, or breakdown. Disassemble. Handle the instrument and choose where to store it carefully because it may break due to dropping or strong vibration or shock. (Described on the label on the left side of the main unit.). Be sure to use the special AC adapter for the power source. Using other material may result in a fire, electric shock, or breakdown. The tips of the electrode probes are very sharp. Handle them with care as they can easily stab someone. The instrument generates ozone that is toxic to the human body.
Do NOT use it in an airtight space for a long time. Ventilate the work area, especially when the blower switch is OFF. While caring the instrument (especially maintenance Unplug the or cleaning work), unplug the AC adapter or an Power Cord. electric shock may be caused. When not using the instrument, unplug the power Unplug the cord of the AC adapter for safety. (When leaving the Power Cord. work site, unplug the power cord.). CAUTION. Be sure to carry out maintenance and cleaning work on a regular basis. Cleaning of electrode probes: Every 100 hours Replacement of electrode probes: Every 10,000. hours (Request your Shimadzu representative.). Using the instrument when it is broken may result in short circuit, fire, or electric shock.
Do NOT use the instrument in vehicles. Operation is not guaranteed. STABLO-EX has sufficient measures for electromagnetic waves. However, when it is close to equipment with no electromagnetic wave interference or with insufficient measures, such equipment may malfunction. (It does not affect the Shimadzu analytical Balances AUW-D/AUW/AUX. /AUY series.) In this event, move the Ionizer away from the malfunctioning equipment. The left LED on top of the main unit is green when the state is normal and red when it is abnormal. If it becomes red, turn ON the main power switch on the back of the instrument again. The LED will become green and normal operation starts. Even if the LED is red, the instrument is in its normal state as long as the LED becomes green after switching ON the power again.
Precautions for Use <STABLO-EX>. This instrument is an Ionizer specifically for Electronic Balances . Purpose of ionizers specifically for Electronic Balances is to remove static from electric-charged samples or containers for higher reliability of measurements. Use the instrument following the matters described below. For power source, be sure to use the special AC adapter. The instrument is designed to be used indoors only. The instrument may become slightly hot during operation. This is not abnormal. The instrument is precision equipment. Handle it with care and avoid dropping it or exposing it to strong vibration or shock. Using the instrument with the electrode probes bent lowers static removal performance.
If electrode probes become bent, they need to be replaced. Contact your Shimadzu representative. Prior to removing static from powder-shaped samples, make sure that the blower switch is turned OFF. Do NOT use the instrument in an airtight space for a long time. Ventilate the work area, especially when using the instrument with the blower switch OFF in an airtight space for a long time. The Ionizer has sufficient measures for electromagnetic waves. However, when it is close to equipment with no electromagnetic wave interference or with insufficient measures, such equipment may malfunction. In this event, move the Ionizer away from malfunctioning equipment. (It does not affect the Shimadzu analytical Balances AUW-D/AUW/AUX/AUY series.)
The instrument's static removal performance differs when the blower is ON/OFF. The performance is higher when the blower is ON as compared to when it is OFF. Place the Ionizer closer to the sample when the blower is OFF. Insert the plug of the AC adapter's connecting cord into the DC IN connector after checking that the Main switch on the back is turned OFF. Then, insert the power plug of the AC adapter into an outlet and turn ON the Main switch. Prior to unplugging the AC adapter's connecting cord from the DC IN connector of the instrument, turn OFF the Main switch on the back. Hold the plug when unplugging the cord. The left LED on top of the main unit is green when the state is normal and red when it is abnormal.
