Conformal coating material is applied to the electrodes of flat panel display (FPD). panels connected to flexible printed circuit boards (FPCs), and to the inner leads under the driver ICs, to enhance insulation reliability. However, rejected FPD modules are often re-assembled after defective parts are removed, and a "repair process", in which the coating materials should be removed and reapplied, is necessary. This process requires a great effort for conventional coating materials, because they are difficult to remove. However, coating materials must adhere well to substrates for the sake of insulation reliability, which requires the compatibility of adhesion and repair-ability.

2 We developed new repairable coating materials, the solvent type TUFFY TF-4200 series and the UV cure type TUFFY TF-3348-741, which have excellent adhesion and insulation reliability.
