4 ScopeFSSC 22000 is to be used for auditing and certification of food safety systems of organizations in the food chain which process or manufacture:perishable animal products ( meat, poultry, eggs, dairy and fish products);perishable vegetal products ( fresh fruits and fresh juices, preserved fruits, fresh vegetables, preserved vegetables);products with long shelf life at ambient temperature ( canned products, biscuits, snacks, oil, drinking water, beverages, pasta, flour, sugar, salt);(bio)chemical manufacturing ( vitamins, additives and bio- cultures) but excluding technical and technological aids;food packaging manufacturing ( direct, indirect contact with the food). fssc 22000 includes transportation and on site storage if part of the operation ( cheese ripening). 8 Associated certification bodiesOnly certification bodies associated with the Foundation are licensed to issue accredited fssc 22000 certificates. Licensing is based on an agreement between the Foundation for Food Safety Certification and the certification body and requires an accreditation for fssc 22000 . By entering into an agreement with the Foundation accredited certifi cation bodies are authorized to provide fssc 22000 certification. Accreditation is gained by a fssc 22000 -associated accreditation body which complies with the Regulation for accreditation bodies (Part III). Licensed certification bodies are obliged to strictly adhere to all requirements of the fssc 22000 scheme. Associated certification bodies are obliged to participate in consul tations on the interpretation of the fssc 22000 is in full compliance with all requirements of ISO 22000 , ISO 22003, technical specifications for sector PRPs and ISO/IEC 17021 accreditation bodies have to recognise the Food Safety Management System scheme fssc 22000 , owned by the Foundation for Food Safety Certification in the Netherlands, as a Certification Scheme that can be certificated under ISO/IEC 17021 accreditation.
