The Grenade then gives up to 10 seconds for the fire fighter to project the unit into the fire. Once activated the canisters release their powerful aerosol gas, which is generated from a stable combustible solid. The aerosol released, is proven to be 3 times more effective than Halon, and rapidly knocks down or suppresses the small to medium sized fires in confined spaces, such as in skips, basement entrances, engine bays or small portable buildings, one or more grenades is often enough to extinguish the fire.
