To Update the map data on a Navigation syste m, the Update method di ers depending on the Navigation system model. P lease use t he method t hat c orr esponds to the model. Using the Map Serial Number and Map Update ID , the dealer sta obtai ns a License Key Number . 4. By in serting the medi a containing new map data into the navig ation system and inputting the License Key Number , the map Update will b egin. Notes: C onventional Map Update Methods Map Update Method f or DVD n avig ation s ystems 1. The u ser purchases a DVD that in cl udes new map data. 2. The user takes out the map DVD curr ently used for the Navigation syste m and inserts the new map DVD. Map Update Method for HDD Navigation s ystems (Syste ms that r equire an u pdate tool) 1. The u ser b rings t heir v ehi cle to t he deale r. 2. Dealer sta updates map data in the Navigation system using a specia li zed tool for map updating. INFORMATION For HDD Navigation systems there are two di ere nt map updating methods; the conventio nal Update tool type and the web License key type.

4 Before updating, con rm which method corresponds to the user s Navigation syste m (Refer to Disti nguishing the Map Updatin g Method for HDD Navigation S ystem on page 3.) INFORMATION The steps to di splay the map information screen di er s dependin g on the area. For details, refer to the owner s manual that corresponds to the Navigation system. 5 Read the information in the map information paragraph. For web li cense key ty pe HDD Navigation systems, the map version and map Update ID are both shown. HDD Navigation system ( Update tool ty pe): Only Map version number is shown. HDD Navigation syste m (web License key t ype): Map version number and Map Update ID are shown. 6 EniltuO metI Genuine Parts (DVD with Map Serial No.)DVD: This is a DVD that contains new map data for updating. Inserting this DVD into the Navigation system begins the process of copying the map data. Map Serial Number: This is a 16-di git number that is provided together with the DVD. A unique number is assigned to each DVD. (This number is necessary to obtain a Li cense Key Number .) Map Update ID Thi s is a 16-digit number that is uni que to each Navigation system. The map Update ID can be checked on the screen of the Navigation syst em. (Thi s ID is necessary to obta in a License Key Number .) License Key Number This is an 8-digit number that is the key to start updating the map of the Navigation system. Inputting the License Key Number is the onl y way to start updating, thus, obtaini ng the L icense Key Number is essentia l. To obtain a L icense Key Number , access the website of the TMC License Management Syst em.

7 The website re quires the inputtin g o f the Map Serial Number and Map Update ID . PC A PC is used to access the License Management System via the in ternet. To obtain a License Key Number , access the TMC License Management Syst em and follow the instructio ns. Necessary Items and Equipment for Updating Map Data 12 43 1 32 456 8 of 18 Manual Ref. no. The electronic p arts c atalo gue ( EPC) c an be used t o s earch f or t he part number. First check whether the parts are available o r order and con rm the arr ival date o f the parts, then set an appoin tment f or t he Update operation with t he c ustomer. INFORMATION The parts are provided in the same way as TMC sourced parts.

8 It is recommended to keep parts in st ock (preliminary preparation). Keep the Map Serial Number that is provided with the parts in a safe pl ace. It is not possib le to obtai n a License key number if the map serial number is lost. Checking Map Update ID [Step of the P rocedure F lowchart] NOTICE The Map Update ID can be checked only on the screen of the Navigation system. Make sure to check the Map Update ID and record its number. It is impossible to obtai n a li cense key number without the Map Update ID . Obtaining License Key Number [Ste ps to of the P rocedure F lowchart] To obtai n a Li cense Key Number , access the TMC Li cense Management Syste m and input the Map Serial Number and Map Update ID . Thi s procedure is ess ential because the Navigation system requests a Li cense Key Number when the map data i s being updated. 1. Access t he website o f t he TMC License Management S ystem . Start up the web browser on a PC that is connected to the inte rnet and in put co. jp/ in the address bar to access the websit e. 2. Input the 16-digit Map Update ID of the navigat ion system that is to be Update d and the 16-digi t Map Serial Number provided with the DVD c ontaining new map d ata f or updat ing. 4. Click Issue L icense K ey Number . Before cli cking Issue Li cense Key Number , make sure that the map Update ID and map serial number a re c orr ect. NOTICE If the wrong ID or number is entered ve ti mes in a row, the License key iss ue process will become unavai lable for approximately 30 minutes. Con rm the ID and number before clicking Issue License Key Number . When an input er ror occurs, follow the instructions di spla yed on the screen.
