2 Public HOUSING employees typically work 7:00 until 4:30 for eight days and 8:00 until 4:30 on the eight hour day. The position We are currently searching for applicants with strong property leasing and occupancy experience and skills. Under the direction of the Asset Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for leasing units, reviewing and collecting delinquent rent, determining the initial and continuing eligibility of applicants and participants in low income public HOUSING programs and services. Responsibilities also include providing occasional lead direction to clerical and maintenance employees on assigned properties.

3 EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION GUIDELINES: Any combination of experience and education that would be likely to provide the required knowledge and abilities could be qualifying, as determined by the AUTHORITY . The successful candidate will work on our Public HOUSING properties in Pittsburg and Antioch Sr. property assistant , Selection Process 15-08 Page 2 of 7 Experience: Four (4) years of full-time experience in HOUSING eligibility determination, or social services eligibility in not for profit/government, state or federal agencies. Education: Graduation from an accredited high school, or possession of an equivalent certificate or diploma recognized by the State of California ( ).

4 Possession of an Associate s Degree, or two full academic years of training, from an accredited college or university with a major in business administration, social sciences, or related field is desirable. Licenses and Certificates Possess a Public HOUSING Rent Calculation, Occupancy Specialist, and/or UPCS Inspection Certificate, or obtain such certifications within one year of appointment to the classification or other allowable period of hire as authorized by the Executive Director. Must possess and maintain an applicable California Driver License and a driving record acceptable to the AUTHORITY s insurance carrier.

7 Implementing the AUTHORITY s Public HOUSING leasing and occupancy policies and procedures in accordance with HUD, federal, local and other applicable laws, rules, policies and procedures. Provides lead direction to other clerical and maintenance employees and may undertake more difficult eligibility determination cases and special projects. Responsible for performing a wide variety of difficult technical and clerical/administrative work in accordance with established procedures. Provides information and assistance to clients and to the public regarding AUTHORITY policies and procedures.

8 The duties listed below illustrate the various types of work that may be performed. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: The classification is distinguished from other job descriptions by the requirements to: provide lead direction to other clerical and maintenance employees on designated properties; undertake more difficult eligibility determination cases; conduct Uniform Physical Condition Standards (UPCS) inspections; and special projects as assigned.

9 The class is responsible to an Asset Manager, or designee, for the evaluation of applicants, analysis of their applications, and related documents, and the determination of initial, annual and interim examinations of income eligibility and other Public HOUSING Program regulations. This classification deals with residents, the public, colleagues and personnel in other agencies. Significant action to the client may result based on the accuracy of sensitive information. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND LEAD DIRECTION EXERCISED: This class operates under the direct supervision of an Asset Manager.

10 The employee plans and carries out routine work activities with minimal supervision and independently resolves problems that arise in accordance with agency policies and procedures and program rules. The employee receives instructions and direction from their supervisor. The employee's work is reviewed periodically for conformance to AUTHORITY policies and attainment of objectives. This classification exercises no supervision over other AUTHORITY employees. It provides lead direction to Maintenance staff, Leasing Assistants and other student and temporary employees, as assigned.
