1 How to find the serial Numbers on your Mercruiser Stern Drive The serial number is your key to obtaining accurate parts information and availability for your Mercruiser stern drive. You can find the engine, drive, and transom plate serial number on the flame arrestor (near the orange arrow). The serial number will start with a 0 or 1, then a let- ter (eg. A, B, C, D, F, M) then 6. numbers. An example is 0G465723. On the stern drive, you can find the drive serial number stamped into the drive on either side, with the same letter/ number pattern as with the engine.
2 Since Mercruiser uses serial groups more often than model years, it is very important to quote your serial number when looking for parts.
