3 Starting withmodule #1, connect the Module harness to eachmodule that is installed. Any harness connectionsthat remain after all installed modules areconnected should be coiled and secured abovethe last - Harness must be secured such thatit cannot come into contact with primary(line voltage) AC Enclosure Address. Set the rotary switch onthe Module interface to the address assigned inthe HomeWorks Interactive Communication Wiring. Connect thecontrol wiring to the processor communicationlink terminal block on the lower end of the moduleinterface board. See Figure 3. The processorcommunication link must be connected in a daisychain configuration with a maximum total cablelength of 1000 feet (300m). Connect terminals 1,3 and 4 (Common, MUX, MUX) to the 4-positionterminal block.

4 See Figure 3. DO NOT connectterminal 2 (+15V) because the Module interfaceis powered from the the processor communication linkon the last Module interface . If any of themodule interfaces are located more than 50 feet( ) from the processor, the last moduleinterface on the chain must utilize a terminatoracross terminals 3 and 4. LT-1 terminators thatare included with the processor may be used forthis application. See Figure 3. If LT-1s areunavailable, a 1/4 Watt resistor between 100 and150 ohms may be placed from terminal 3 toterminal 4 to provide termination. Termination atthe processor end of the chain is included on theprocessor board so an LT-1 is not Input Power. Connect the power inputplug (black and white wires) into the control feedharness that comes pre-installed in (Optional) Connect manual override cable tothe terminal blocks as shown in Figure 3.

5 Themanual override scene (as programmed in theHomeWorks Interactive Utility) is activated for allmodules connected to the Module interface byclosing a switch that is wired between the twoterminals (see Figure 3). The switch (or relay)contacts must be rated for switching 50mA Installing a separate switch for each MIgives the customer the maximum flexibility sinceit allows separate override scenes for each RPMenclosure. A single switch can be used if all of theMIs are wired to it in parallel, but proper polaritymust be maintained across all units. In thisconfiguration, the switch must be rated forswitching the sum of the current for all of themodule interfaces connected ( , 6 moduleinterfaces wired to a single override switch wouldrequire a switch rated for 300mA @ 30 VDC).

6 Forcable runs less than 1000 feet (300m) that areconnected to a single Module interface , 16 24 AWG ( ) wiring can be used. Forcable runs exceeding 1000 feet (300m) or thosethat are connected to multiple Module Interfaces,16 18 AWG ( ) wiring must be (Optional) Program Override Scene. Themanual override levels can be programmed usingthe HomeWorks Interactive Utility. These levelsare set in the load schedule screen by pressingfunction key F5 on the Turn Power ON. Restore the supply circuitbreaker to the ON Verify that the power LED is ON (see Figure 3).If the power LED is ON, proceed to step 12. If it isnot ON, and other LEDs on the Module Interfaceare ON, terminal 2 in the processorcommunication link terminal block is connectedwhen it shouldn't be. Remove the connection toterminal 2 before proceeding.

7 If all LEDs on themodule interface are OFF, verify that the 24 VACterminals from the transformer are connected tothe board, the power plug for the moduleinterface is plugged in and wired to the enclosureterminal blocks, and that the AC circuit breaker isturned Verify that the Module interface is heartbeat LED should flash whenever theunit is powered (see figure 3).13. Verify processor and modulecommunications. The LEDs for processor andmodule communications will flash to indicateproper operation. Module communications aredependent upon processor communications.
