Transmissions Information Bulletin Bulletin Type: Topic: Topic: Forced Lube System Service Issue/Background The trucking industry has shown a continuing growth of available engine horsepower and torque with demand for improved product durability, reliability and performance. These demands have led to product upgrades which will include the internal forced lube system for the 1650 lbs-ft and 1850 lbs-ft 13 and 18 speeds. The lube system is the same as the RTLO/F-20913 and RTLO/F-22918 but without the filter. The filter is not included on the 1650/1850 lbs-ft models but may be added as an option.

2 Installation Effects Installation requirements to the vehicle are identical to current RTLO/F-1650/1850 lbs-ft 13 and 18. speeds. Part of the lube system is external to the main case but is not visible with the clutch hous- ing installed. All Service and Exchange units will still be shipped from the plants without a clutch housing. NOTE: When replacing a transmission model that is not equipped with the lube tube assembly the correct clutch housing must be ordered. A clutch housing that is not machined to accommodate the lube tube assembly cannot be installed on a transmis- sion with this assembly.

3 If installation is attempted, damage will result. See part numbers on attached parts list for the correct clutch housing. Assembly Procedure Topic: Note: Clutch housing gasket P/N 4304815 must be used with the forced lube system. The gasket must be in place before installing the lube tube assembly with the beaded side towards the trans- mission case. Install O'rings per drawing below.
