1 INTERCESSORY PRAYERS SIXTH SUNDAY AFTER pentecost - A Our Lord Jesus invites us to follow him. As he laid down his life in intercession for the world, let us pray on behalf of people everywhere, saying Lord, hear our prayer . For all people of faith who struggle to believe in the promise of life amid the clamour of death, let us pray to the Lord, saying Lord, hear our prayer . For Robert and Terry our Bishops, Jenny our Rector, Gord our Assistant Priest, Willi an Archdeacon in the Church, and for the churches who must bear witness to the possibility of taking up the cross and following Jesus, let us pray to the Lord, saying Lord, hear our prayer .
2 For those who are losing their souls in the pursuit of world gain, let us pray to the Lord, saying Lord, hear our prayer . For those laying down their lives in faithful dedication to God s call, let us pray to the Lord, saying Lord, hear our prayer . For those who are to die this week, and for their safe passage to the life of the world to come, let us pray to the Lord, saying Lord, hear our prayer . For those serving in our Canadian Forces, that they will be safe and courageous in their duties, defended, guided, strengthened, and comforted by God s heavenly grace, and know His wonderful presence always, let us pray to the Lord, saying Lord, hear our prayer .
3 For all those in transition, for the sick and the suffering, and for all members of our parish family in any type of need especially [N.], that they may find hope in God s presence and relief from their sufferings, let us pray to the Lord, saying: Lord, hear our prayer . For those in our parish cycle of prayer , Marg and Jack Woodall, and Pauline and Jon Walsh and their families, that they may feel God s constant love and be guided in their lives by the Holy Spirit, let us pray to the Lord, saying Lord, hear our prayer . For all here present who will one day be judged by God s standards and meet Christ coming in glory, let us pray to the Lord, saying Lord, hear our prayer .
4 Most High God, your ways are not our ways, yet your ways bear life. Hear the petitions of your assembled people. Pour out on your world the faith to hear your call and the courage to answer it. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who is one with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
