1 Pentecost Sunday (B) GENERAL INTERCESSIONS May 27, 2012 Presider: Filled with the Holy Spirit, the very breath of our risen and glorified Lord, / let us pray to God for the common good of the whole human family. 1. Empower with your Spirit, Lord, / all people of the church gathered from every race and nation into the Body of Christ. / May we proclaim in every creed and language / your glory and your saving power, +WE PRAY TO THE LORD 2. Empower with your Spirit, Lord, / the leaders of all governments and May they be steadfast in their efforts for peace and justice, / and in their defense of the weak and helpless, + WE PRAY TO THE LORD 3.
2 Empower with your Spirit, Lord, / those who serve our parish our Parish Life Director, priests, and staff, / musicians and singers, / teachers and catechists / all men and women, young and old, in ministries of charity and service that build up this holy place. / May they be the hands and feet, eyes and voice of Jesus Christ, + WE PRAY TO THE LORD 4. Empower with your Spirit, Lord, / all young people celebrating their graduation, a time of passage: / As parents and elders who love them, may we listen to their dreams, encourage their hopes, bless them in prayer, and set them free to live their lives fully, + WE PRAY TO THE LORD GENERAL INTERCESSIONS , Pentecost , 5/27/12 *No name is to be written into the prayers for this Sunday .
