American Academy in Rome Rome Prize Eleven-Month Fellowships Deadline: 11/1/15 The Rome Prize is awarded to emerging artists and scholars in the early or middle stages of their careers who represent the highest standard of excellence in the arts and humanities. Rome Prize recipients are generally invited to Rome for eleven months (some design fellowships are six months and some pre-doctoral art history fellowships are two years). The Rome Prize consists of room and board, a stipend and separate work space, and privileged access to Rome. Eleven-month fellowships generally begin at the Academy in early-September and end at the beginning of August.

3 Winners of six-month fellowships may choose to begin in early September and end in early-March or begin in early-January and end in early-July American Institute of Indian Studies Fellowship Competition Deadline: 7/1 AIIS welcomes applicants from a wide variety of disciplines. American Institute for Sri Lankan Studies Fellowship Program Deadline: 12/1 The sponsor provides fellowships to support two to nine months of research in Sri Lanka by citizens who already hold a or the equivalent at the time they begin their fellowship tenure. Both scholars with little or no experience in Sri Lanka as well as specialists are encouraged to apply. Projects in all fields in the social sciences, humanities and policy sciences are eligible. Proposals in other areas that contribute to the understanding of Sri Lankan history, culture, or society are also invited.

6 The American Research Center in Egypt Fellowships for Research in Egypt Deadline: 1/15/16 ARCE administers research fellowships for students enrolled in doctoral programs at North American universities, and for postdoctoral scholars and professionals affiliated with North American universities and research institutions. Fellowships are awarded for periods ranging from 3-12 months, depending on the Funding source. The Humanities Research Centre visiting fellowship program has been running for the last 35 years. Residencies at the Bogliasco Study Center last approximately 30 to 34 days and are scheduled during the two semesters of the academic year: Fall (mid-September to the third week of December) and Spring (Early February to the second week of May).
