8 SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCES. Specificdetail parts differences in the IO-520 Series will benoted in the Parts Catalog. Significant configurationdifferences in the IO-520 Series are primarily relatedto the two different SAND CAST CRANKCASE has provision fora belt driven generator (or alternator) located at theaccessory end of the engine. The oil cooler is infront of the number 5 cylinder and an integral typeoil screen is incorporated in the oil 2-1. 9 The arrangement and appearanceof the engine components are indicated in Figures1-1 through 1-10. Additional information will befound in installation drawings. It will be observedthat minimum length has been achieved bymounting the starter on right angle and by mountingthe magnetos in the forward side of the accessorygear compartment formed by the crankcase castingsat the rear.
