Heparin induced Thrombocytopenia/ Thrombosis (HITT) Occurs in <1% of LMWH patients. An antibody mediated reaction that usually appears between the 5th and the 15th day following LMWH initiation. Regular platelet monitoring is required- see monitoring requirements. Hyperkalaemia Occurs in <0.1% of patients.
