1 1K-90-9044 Effective: June 2014 Kidde ECS fire Suppression SystemComponent Description900 lb. Agent CylinderP/Ns 90-100900-001 and 90-100901-001 DESCRIPTIONK idde ECS System 900 lb. Agent Cylinders store sup-pression agent super-pressurized with dry nitrogen to360 PSIG at 70 F ( Mpa at 21 C). The cylinders arepainted red and are equipped with a 3-inch pressure dif-ferential valve, pressure gauge, optional liquid level indi-cator and optional low-pressure switch assembly. Thesafety burst disc is also located on the cylinder agent storage container discharges when the actua-tion assembly operates, causing the pressure differentialvalve to open. All of the Kidde actuators may be used toactuate the 900 lb. cylinder. The only exception is the48650001, which is not compatible with this container is installed in a vertical position with thevalve assembly pointing up. Interconnection to dischargepiping is 3-inch NPT. Interconnection can be via a 3-inchflex hose (P/N 06-118225-001) or via a suitably pressurerated groove style container is secured in place by a mounting bracket (P/N 236125), which must be fixed to a solid wall or strutassembly.

2 After the container is securely mounted, it isconnected to discharge piping per the directions in theDesign, Installation, Operation and Maintenance Manual(P/N 06-236115-001).An optional cylinder supervisory pressure switch (P/N 06-118263-001) can be installed on the cylinder valve in thefield if required. This cylinder supervisory pressure switchhas a 1/8-inch NPT connection, which is used on the 3-inch valve INFORMATIONThe part number for ordering the 900 lb. agent cylinderwithout the liquid level indicator is 90-100900-001. Thepart number for ordering the 900 lb. agent cylinder withliquid level indicator is 90-100901-001. If the pressure gauge indicates a loss inpressure of 10% or more, then it shall be rechargedor replaced. Pressure varies with temperature, andthis must be taken into account when checking thepressure gauge. In the range of 55 F to 85 F (13 Cto 29 C) the change is approximately 3 PSI perdegree F ( bar per degree C).

4 All components, including supporting hard-ware, and tighten, repair or replace as any Component if at all in doubt of its abilityto perform INSPECTIONQ ualified personnel should determine the amount ofagent in all containers. The optional liquid level indicatormay be used to measure agent supply and compare it tothe original net weight which is marked on the containerlabel. If the measured net weight is less than 95% of theoriginal charged weight the container should berecharged or all piping, fittings and nozzles for looseness, dirtor other damage.
