National Development Policy (NDP) for the period 1990 –2000. The NDP was the continuation of the NEP to promote balanced economic growth; specifically to strike an optimum balance between the goals of economic growth and equity; and reduce social and economic inequality, ultimately eliminating imbalances within ethnicity.
