Years of field experience with the Iron Breaker IIIsystem has shown it will remove iron in excess of 10 partsper million (PPM) and remain effective in high PH Does It Work?

The Iron Breaker III works by adding oxygen to theincoming Water by passing it thru a "bubble" ofcompressed air captured in the top of the media tank. The Oz charged wateris then passed thru the filter media bed, removing the , an effective medium for removing iron and manganese,is only effective when higher levels of oxygen, at least 15% of the totaliron, is present in the Water . Passing the incomingwater through the compressed "air bubble" achieves theproper level.{Birm acts as a catalyst in the reaction between iron and oxygen thatcauses the iron to precipitate as a solid. This solid is then trapped by theBrim acting as a physical filter. As more Water passes thru the unit the oxy-gen bubble is depleted and the Birm becomes overloaded withthe iron it has filtered.}

The regeneration process then automaticallyreplenishes the supply of oxygen and cleans the media of filtered Iron Breaker III Will Normallv Be Installed:After: Supply line to outside Sediment FiltersAny NeutralizersBefore: A Water SoftenerAny Taste or Odor Filters3l4" lnlet ConnectionBypass ValveHandle3/4" lnlet ConnectionIl2" OD Drain ConnectionAir VentControl- DisplaySYSTEM INSTALL AND SruRT-UPl. 4 If the IronBreaker III is not followed by a Water softener orother unit which regenerates, run the outlet pipe down 2-3 feet beforeplumbing into the system. This will trap at that may escape duringregeneration bypass as a result of the operation of automatic devices such ashumidifiers or reverse osmosis TALLATI O N, C O N TIN AE D3. Theclock uses a standard 12 hour display, indicating mode with a red dot in the lower righthand corner of the control is fully programmable, however it is preset at the factory to begin regeneration at1 every third day and ensure the proper cycle length times. The cycle time setting shouldnever be altered. However the frequency of regeneration may be changed to meet your filtercapac ity 5 Iron Breaker III Operating ManualThe regeneration cycle is preset to occur at 1:AM every thirdduy.

This timing and frequency of regeneration can be modifiedas duration for the regeneration cycle is approximately Backwash cycle, 10 minute duration. Water flow isreversed inside the unit to lift and reclassify thefilter media rinsing accumulated iron from the bed,.2. Oxygen refill, 30 minute duration. The unit empties ofwater and is filled with air. During this cycle waterwill run to drain. There is a slight delay at the start ofthe cycle while the pressure of the air within the tankreaches atmospheric pressure. During this time no air isdrawn into the tank. Once the pressure has equahzed, youwill hear as air is drawn into the The unit returns to the In-Service position. When thishappens Water continues to enter the tank, compressingthe air into a bubble in the top portion of the tank.

Airbubble volume will vary slightly with local Water is available during regeneration the control, continuedShould you require the unit to regenerate at a time of day other than 1 it is importantthat no other unit, Softener or Filter, regenerates at the same time. This will interfere withthe regeneration process of the IronBreaker conditions of high Water usage and/or high levels of iron, the unit may need to regeneratemore frequently then the standard every three day cycle. The unit can be set for every otherday regeneration of daily regeneration, as required. Do not set the regeneration frequencyfor longer than every three days as this risks fouling the filter medium and can, over time,render the unit change the regeneration time:Simultaneously press the Up and Down affows for five seconds, or until thedisplay changes and a red dot appears in the bottom left corner of the display will show the regeneration time, 1: , unless the factorypreset has been the Up-Down alrows to set the desired the "Extra" cycle button on the display twice.
