1 Position Information Document Catholic Education South Australia (February 2016) Page 1 of 3 MANAGER PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT POSITION INFORMATION DOCUMENT February 2016 Section Directorate Responsible to Director Catholic Education SA Classification Level G (Position 5) Tenure Four years (1 February 2016 to 31 January 2020) Fractional time FTE Location Catholic Education Office (CEO), Thebarton Our mission is to provide excellent professional services for Catholic school communities in South Australia (CEO Mission Statement) Broad Purpose The MANAGER PLANNING and DEVELOPMENT is the Team Leader for the PLANNING and DEVELOPMENT Team and oversees a range of PLANNING and capital DEVELOPMENT programs and initiatives.
2 The MANAGER PLANNING and DEVELOPMENT works with other senior executives in realising the strategic vision of the Catholic Education Office as it relates to PLANNING and capital DEVELOPMENT within Catholic Education South Australia (CESA). The MANAGER PLANNING and DEVELOPMENT will develop partnerships and services as appropriate for schools and the Catholic Education Offices, including the provision of expert advice, support and direction related to a broad range of PLANNING , infrastructure, capital DEVELOPMENT and associated initiatives.
3 Key Working Relationships Director, Catholic Education South Australia Director, Catholic Education, Diocese of Port Pirie Leadership Team members and other senior personnel from across the Catholic Education Office Team members from the PLANNING and DEVELOPMENT Team and other staff of the Catholic Education Offices in Adelaide and Port Pirie Executives of the associations for Principals, Deputy Principals and Assistant Principals Religious Identity and Mission South Australian Commission for Catholic Schools (SACCS) and its Standing Committees Senior personnel from the Archdiocese of Adelaide and Diocese of Port Pirie Various strategic bodies at sector, state and national levels Position Information Document Catholic Education South Australia (February 2016) Page 2 of 3 Key Working Relationships (cont)
4 Commonwealth Government - Department of Education and Training, Capital Funding Team School Principals, Bursars/Business Managers and Communities Key Responsibilities The MANAGER - PLANNING and DEVELOPMENT will: participate in and contribute effectively to the mission of the Catholic Church by offering outstanding leadership within CESA have leadership, oversight and accountability responsibilities for the PLANNING and DEVELOPMENT Team including all of its programs and initiatives work in partnership with Principals, CCES, the Diocesan Property Office.
5 The Diocese of Port Pirie and other strategic bodies undertake strategic PLANNING and capital DEVELOPMENT within CESA act in the role of Block Grant Authority (BGA) for SACCS in the PLANNING , administration and accountability of assigned programs ensure the interests and responsibilities of CCES and the Diocese of Port Pirie are managed in the undertaking of capital projects to property owned by them Specific duties include DEVELOPMENT and oversight of: SACCS Capital DEVELOPMENT processes contracts, consultant engagement, and risk management of capital works undertaken at Diocesan schools project budget and scope, and acting as client representative for projects building condition.
6 Technical expertise and advice property asset condition audits for property owned by CCES and utilised by CESA property PLANNING and maintenance for the Catholic Education Offices risk management for capital infrastructure works undertaken by Diocesan schools overall asset management strategy for Catholic Church Endowment Society (CCES), SACCS and CESA with regard to properties utilised by CESA property and facility management of properties owned by CCES and used by CESA the management and accountability for the Room Rent Program current and future capital and infrastructure DEVELOPMENT undertaking appropriate and timely demographic analysis in support of future PLANNING and DEVELOPMENT for CESA liaising with industry professionals in developing cost effective building/infrastructure solutions for Schools.

8 Experience, tertiary qualifications and expertise commensurate with the position outstanding leadership within PLANNING and/or capital DEVELOPMENT processes and practices including building design and brief DEVELOPMENT commitment to working in collaborative relationships high levels of motivation and commitment towards the delivery of strategic outcomes and delivery of services to schools project management and risk management capabilities capacity to manage and be accountable for team finances Other

10 Division 4, Section 27 & 28 SA Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act 2012) hold current certification in Responding to Abuse and Neglect in Education and Care Settings participate in regular professional review processes.
