2 The course certificate will state: This course is hereby recognized as a Coast Guard Approved Training Course as outlined in Subpart D of Part 10, Title 46, Code of Federal Regulations. Any applicant who has successfully completed our Marine Environmental Awareness ( strctr - 710) course will satisfy the following competencies, relative to Marine Environmental Awareness only: The "Ensure compliance with pollution prevention requirements" competency of Table A-II/I, and Table A-III/I of the STCW Code, as amended 2010; and, The "Monitor compliance with legislative requirements and measures to ensure protection of the Marine environment" competency of Table A-1I/2, and Table A-III/2 of the STCW Code, as amended 2010.

3 And, The specific tasks of the National Assessment Guidelines found in NVIC 10-14 Tasks through , Task and ; NVIC 12-14 Tasks , ,0. , and ; NVIC 17-14 Task . Scope This course is intended to address Environmental issues laid out in MARPOL 73/78 as they pertain to company and crew in the Marine industry. Entry standards This course is open to students who have a need for such training as required by the United States Coast Guard and STCW as amended. Each student should have an STCW Certification as an Officer- in-Charge of a Navigation Watch or Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch or have an equivalent and experiential background, be in good physical health and speak and understand English.
