3 INSTALLATION Pump may be mounted in anyposition. The rotation of the pump shaft determinesthe location of the pump s intake and dischargeports (Refer to dimensional drawing). Pump is nor-mally assembled at factory for clockwise rotation(looking at end cover). If counter clockwise rotationis desired, follow steps 1 and 2 of disassembly andstep 9 of assembly instructions to change directionof impeller blade deflection under DRIVE Belt or direct with flexible Drive: Overtight belt load will reduce pump bear-ing Drive: Clearance should be left between driveshaft and pump shaft when installing mount and align pump and drive shaft beforetightening the coupling set screw. 4 Remove the four end cover screws. Remove end coverand Remove the four screws holding the body to the bear-ing housing flange. Slide body, complete with impellerand wearplate, from pedestal and shaft Remove mechanical seal by inserting two screwdriversbehind seal collar, and gently lever collar and sealassembly forward on shaft. Use extreme care not tomar shaft surface. Remove seal seat and rubber cupfrom recess in From the drive end of the bearing housing, pry outbearing seal by inserting a screwdriver blade betweenOD of the seal and housing. Remove retaining carefully withdraw shaft and bearing Remove inner bearing seal and retaining To remove bearings from shaft an arbor press isrequired. If an arbor press is not available then a bear-ing extractor may be used. Supporting inner race ofbearing, apply a steady pressure on shaft until bearingslides free.

5 Repeat this procedure to remove To replace bearing on shaft. Support ball bearing on itsinner race and locate shaft onto bearing. Apply asteady pressure to the shaft until bearing locatesagainst shoulder on shaft. Repeat for second Fit retaining ring and bearing seal into impeller end ofbearing housing. Spring on bearing seal to face Apply bearing grease around and between bearings,filling cavity between bearings two thirds full. Smeargrease on shaft where bearing seal locates. Push shaftand bearing assembly into bearing Replace retaining ring and outer bearing seal withspring facing Replace mechanical seal by sliding spacer onto shaftup to locating shoulder, then smear shaft with lightlubricating oil. Push on seal gently until it engages withspacer. Fit rubber cup and seal seat into Insert impeller in pump body, fit O-ring in each end ofthe pump body.

6 Fit wearplate to : A gap should be maintained between bearinghousing and body. DO NOT overtighten Slide wearplate and body assembly over shaft,position wearplate in housing. Fit body to pedestal withscrews. Torque screws to 20 in. Fit end cover and end cover screws. Torque screwsto 20 in. Changing Pump Rotation (looking at end cover):Clockwise Rotation: Insert impeller into pump bodywith blades bending Rotation: Insert impeller into pumpbody with blades bending impeller to support shaft from impeller endduring press operation. Do not hammer pulley orcoupling on shaft; this may damage bearing or start motor is required to overcome startingtorque of SPEEDS 100 RPM to the maximum shown in theperformance curves. For longer pump life, operate atlowest possible speeds. Lower speeds are requiredfor viscous liquids.

7 Consult the factory for properspeeds and horsepower SELF-PRIMING Primes at low or high speeds. Forvertical dry suction lift of 10 feet (neoprene/nitrile) 4 feet (viton/EPDM), a minimum of 860 RPM isrequired. Pump will produce suction lift up to 22 feetwhen wet. BE SURE SUCTION LINES ARE AIR-TIGHT OR PUMP WILL NOT DISCHARGE When transferring liquids furtherthan 25 feet, use one size larger discharge line thandischarge port RUNNING DRY Unit depends on liquids pumpedfor lubrication. DO NOT RUN DRY for more than 30seconds. Lack of liquid will damage the CHEMICAL COMPATIBILITY Consult theChemical Resistance Guide in the JABSCOI ndustrial Pump Catalog (available upon requestfrom ITT Jabsco) or factory for proper body materialsand impeller compounds. If corrosive fluids are han-dled, pump life will be prolonged if pump is flushedwith a neutralizing solution after each use or aftereach work day.

If pressures exceed thoseshown, consult the TEMPERATURES The operating temperature lim-its of the pump depend on the impeller following ranges apply: Neoprene - 45 to 180 F (7 to 82 C), Nitrile - 50 to 180 F (10 to 82 C),Viton - 60 to 180 F (15 to 82 C), EPDM - 45 to185 F (7 to 85 C).10.
