Modified-release preparations
What is modified-release? The term modified-release defines preparations that have been designed in such a way that the rate or place at which the active ingredients are released has been modified.2 This is an all encompassing term that the BNF now uses to cover prepara-tions such as sustained-release, controlled-release and delayed-release.
