MEC Mrs. Reginah Mhaule MPUMALANGA A Pioneering SpiritSisonke Sifundzisa Sive I wish to take this opportunity and express our utmost appreciation to all those who rallied side by side with the Mpumalanga Department of Education to ensure improvement in the quality of education that is being delivered. This cohort of grade 12 learners started schooling in 2002 and we wish them all the best as they proceed with their careers.

2 We undertake to intensify our efforts in ensuring that every school in our province performs above 80%. We are humbled by the involvement of all stakeholders in our endeavor to improve performance of our province. This statistical report gives provincial synopsis of performance of schools, circuits, districts and the province for the grade 12 class of 2013. 4 The other language may either be at Home or First Additional Language level provided that one of the two languages is the language of learning and teaching. (b)Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy (c)Life Orientation and (d)a minimum of any three other subjects. 40% in 3 subjects, one of which must be an official language at Home Language level. The other two can be any 2 subjects. 30% in other 3 subjects. candidate may obtain level one (1) in one subject provided the School-Based Assessment component is submitted in the subject failed.

PASS REQUIREMENTS FOR BACHELORS The minimum admission requirement is a NATIONAL SENIOR CERTIFICATE (NSC) with an achievement rating of 4 (Adequate Achievement, 50- 59%) or better in four subjects chosen from the recognised 20-credit NSC subjects PASS REQUIREMENTS FOR DIPLOMA The minimum admission requirement is a NATIONAL SENIOR CERTIFICATE (NSC) as certified by Umalusi with an achievement rating of 3 (Moderate Achievement, 40- 49%) or better in four recognised NSC 20-credit subjects.

6 PASS REQUIREMENTS FOR HIGHER CERTIFICATE The minimum admission requirement is a NATIONAL SENIOR CERTIFICATE (NSC) and 30% in the Language of Learning and Teaching.
