10 A total of 164 defined restriction zones and vaccinationareas are recorded in the region/zone database. Furthermore, additional data for German scientificwork has been entered into the database for the period (a total of 41,352data records).Recently Austria and Latvia joined the database and are presently in a testing phase. Further EUMember States ( Estonia, Lithuania and Poland) are interested to join the database and Serbia, asaccession candidate, has also indicated its intention in maps and display of ecological information plays an important role during the evaluation processof the CSF surveillance data.
