With a focus on Learning for the love of Learning , our programs are centered on the interests of adults aged 50 and older. Becoming a member means joining a group of more than 900 enthusiastic peers to enjoy innovative and enriching courses, lectures, special interest groups and travel at UWM is supported by the School of Continuing Education, through staff assistance. It is 1 of 116 Institutes around the United States from Maine to Hawaii. Although most members are retired, you do not have to be a retiree to join.

3 Nor do you need to be a UWM graduate or otherwise associated with the University. Osher is for people of all educational backgrounds. A desire to learn and actively participate is the only programs are available exclusively to Osher members. The small annual membership fee grants access to endless Learning , discounted travel, the Golda Meir Library, our bimonthly newsletter, a membership directory and a very busy social Courses are two- to five-week sessions on various topics such as the arts, literature, ethics, law, politics, religion, history and health care. Courses are taught by UWM faculty, Osher members and other experts and professionals in the community.

4 Additional fees Interest Groups meet regularly for self-guided study. They are offered in such fields as languages (French, Italian, German and Spanish), history, books and earth wisdom. An annual $15 participation fee Explore Programs are one-time, docent-led programs at places of interest in the Milwaukee and surrounding areas. Additional fees Activities are scheduled during the year, including the spring luncheon, summer picnic, fall reception, December holiday party and coffee hours during course registration.
