1 Aim: The fund invests in the shares of Overseas companies against a benchmark mix, with fixed proportions. It is a fund of funds and both the proportions invested in each region and investments in each region are passively managed except for emerging markets which are actively managed. The split between the Overseas regions may be reviewed from time to : the fund holds shares of companies from around the world (excluding companies listed in the UK). 2 Corporate profitability remains resilient in both countries and quarterly results were well received by investors. However, performance in Europe was mixed and the UK, too, ended the quarter lower. Many emerging markets also came under pressure, and in fixed income, yields on government bonds were generally US stock market enjoyed a stellar quarter on the back of healthy company earnings. In September, the US Federal Reserve, in a widely anticipated move, raised interest rates by a quarter of a point, a reflection of the strength of the US contrast, European stock markets disappointed in the third quarter, with companies facing several headwinds.
3 For example, the share prices of some car manufacturers fell on fears that an escalating trade war could impact the export of automobiles. Banking shares were volatile on worries over their exposure to the troubled Turkish economy. It is currently invested in the underlying M&G Pooled Pensions Overseas Equity passive fund.
