10 Coding is attached for all. DMDC Edit Codes The original DoD Instruction, tasking the Services to provide extracts of their separation files to DMDC, specified that Reenlistment Eligibility should be coded either '1' (eligible) or '2' (ineligible). At various times, though, one or more of the Services provided more detailed coding which was, in turn, reflected in the DMDC edited files. In conjunction with a 1978 agreement to provide monthly submissions for use in an expanded prior service recruiting inquiry system, the Services agreed to submit the complete Reenlistment Eligibility coding available on their files. The following table describes by Service the coding structure of Reenlistment Eligibility in the DMDC edited separation files for FY73 - FY82. From FY82 to present, all services have supplied their complete Reenlistment Eligibility codes to DMDC.
