Reinforcement Bars - NatSteel

Reinforcement BarsNatSteel traces its lineage to 1961, when it was incorporated as National Iron and steel Mills. A pioneer and key partner in Singapore s nation building efforts, our products are used in most construction projects island-wide, from the iconic Changi International Airport to the public housing that is the trademark of Singapore s landscape. Singapore is home to NatSteel s headquarters, as well as its flagship plant, which boasts one of the largest single downstream rebar fabrication operations in the world. The Singapore plant is the only local steel mill with an integrated upstream and downstream operation, where steel is manufactured through recycling scrap, and fabricated according to customers needs. With operations spanning across the region, the group has an annual steel production capacity of over 2 million today continues to build on its success as a leading steel producer in Asia Pacific, with over 3,000 employees across the region.

2 Tata steel is among the top global steel companies with an annual crude steel capacity of over 28 million tonnes with major foot prints in India, the UK, Netherlands, Thailand, China and Australia. As part of the Tata steel group, NatSteel is poised for further growth, with its sights set on becoming the global steel industry benchmark for value creation and corporate Holdings a leading Pan-Asian company that delivers premium steel products and solutions for theconstruction industryContentsAbout NatSteelSteel MakingSteel RollingAbout NatSteel s Reinforcement Bars Specifications of Reinforcement Bars Applications123 STEELMAKINGThe only steel mill in Singapore, NatSteel has one of the most energy-efficient steel making operations in the world. Typical steel mills operate electric arc furnaces using more than 400 kilowatt hours of energy to produce a tonne of steel . NatSteel does the same with 30% less energy.

3 Melting ProcessProcessed metal waste is melted in the electric arc furnace with fuel oil burners and high voltage current, enriched by oxygen Refinement and Temperature ControlMolten steel is transferred to the 80-tonne Ladle Furnace for chemistry refinement and temperature CastingRefined molten steel flows through a 4-strand high speed caster. Billets are casted and are directly hot charged to the rolling mill, resulting in fuel oil ROLLINGAt the Merchant Bar Mill, billets are heated in a reheating furnace and rolled through a sequence of rolling stands which progressively reduce the billets to the final sizes of Reinforcement bars through an automated process. NatSteel is capable of using Micro Alloy or Tempcore heat treatment process to produce high strength reinforcing bars which are highly malleable and FurnaceFrom the meltshop, an automated conveyor system transfers billets into the reheat furnace for rolling process, reducing the heat loss required for reheating and rolling.

4 Rolling Stands A sequence of fully automated and water-cooled roll stands that gradually reduce billets to required ProductsBillets are rolled into Reinforcement bars. Small diameters rods are also produced at fast design speeds with precise tolerance control using a six-pass bar block. 67 Singapore & MalaysiaSpeci cationsGradeYieldmin(N/mm2)Ratio(min) (min %)Agt(min %)Bend(size : mm)Rebend(size : mm)SS560 : 2016 SingaporeB500A500 - 650<8 8 <8mm : 8mm: cationsGradeYieldmin(N/mm2)Tensilemin(N/mm2)Ratio(min) (min %)Agt(min %)Bend(size : mm)Rebend(size : mm)BS 4449:2005 United KingdomAS/NZS 4671: 2001 Australia/New Zealand B500B500 - <16mm : 4D> 16mm : 7D(90 - 1hr - 20 )MS 146 : 2014 MalaysiaB500A500 - 650< 8 8 < 8mm : 8mm : 16mm : 4D>16mm : 7D(90 - 1hr - 20 ) 16mm :3D>16mm : 6D(160 - 180 ) 16mm : 4D> 16mm : 7D(90 - 1hr - 20 )same as B500 Asame as B500AB500B500 - - sizes : 4D( 16 bend 90 20 bend 180 ) 16mm : 4D 20mm.
