5 2 My Dear Parishioners, Now that I am back from our parish pilgrimage to the Holy Land, and gradually regaining my strength, I cannot help but reflect several times on my experiences, and thank God for them. With the assistance of my parish staff, I am preparing a Power Point presentation, and hope to schedule a night when Fr. O Donald and I can share some highlights, accompanied by projected pictures and videos of our Holy Land experience. Stay tuned we will announce the date by next week! Whatever happened to the Parish Survey, conducted back in April? you may be asking. Well here is an update. A subcommittee of the Parish Pastoral Council is reviewing the results, and preparing a communication plan.

6 According to Father O Donald, who is in charge of the subcommittee, the communication plan will be reviewed by the Pastoral Council at their meeting on November 26. Shortly afterwards, the results will be published on three consecutive Sundays, after Thanksgiving. The survey results will be communicated in three different reports: First, a review of the survey, numbers of participants, etc. Secondly, there will be a listing of the strengths of our parish, as recognized by the participants. Thirdly, there will be a list of suggested areas for growth and improvement. Once the results have been shared with the parish, the next step will be for the Parish Pastoral Council to develop a Pastoral Plan for the next two to three years that will propose goals and objectives to leverage our strengths, so as to meet and address our areas for growth.

7 I apologize that you have waited so long for the results. Everyone has been so busy with all of the activities of our parish. However, the survey is important, and will be worth the wait, because it will guide our future. Please remember that at any point you feel you have something to share or suggest to improve our parish, please do not hesitate to contact me, Fr. Tralies, Fr. O Donald, or any member of our Parish Pastoral Council, as soon as possible. The members of the Parish Pastoral Council are: Amy Drobile, Andrew Terzella, Carole Obrokta, Donna Branderbit, Ed Oczkowski, John Gaul, Joseph Gerlach, Kris Ingle, Len Doughty, Estella Lynch, Ed Bagdon, Jim Fitzgerald, Barbara McKeever, Chris Witzigman, and Joe Rankel.

10 Scripture Readings for Next Sunday Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time November 18, 2018 Daniel 12: 1-3 Psalm 16: 5, 8-11 Hebrews 10: 11-14, 18 Mark 13: 24-32 Scriptures that speak of events to come at the end of time are often referred to as apocalyptic. The first reading from Daniel falls into that category, and it uses apocalyptic language to speak of what were present-day realities for the author of that book and his audience. Likewise, Jesus in our Gospel passage calls our attention to the end of time to help us to think about our lives and our world in the present age. Listening to all these readings, what do you hear God saying to you about your life?
