SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST Job Description Department: HUMAN RESOURCES Reports To: SVP, Director of HR and Talent Development Supervises: None SUMMARY Description The SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with SENIOR HR management in supporting Business First Bank. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, performance management, policy implementation, affirmative action and employment law compliance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Administers various HUMAN resource plans and procedures for all employees; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.

The Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for ensuring that internal controls, as designed and implemented by Management, related to the duties being performed are operating as intended. Any deviations from control procedures must be reported in a timely manner directly to the immediate supervisor for remediation.

1 SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST Job Description Department: HUMAN RESOURCES Reports To: SVP, Director of HR and Talent Development Supervises: None SUMMARY Description The SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with SENIOR HR management in supporting Business First Bank. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, performance management, policy implementation, affirmative action and employment law compliance. Administers various HUMAN resource plans and procedures for all employees; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.

2 Administers the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary. Responsible for the preparation of Total Compensation Statements. Assists with Merger and Acquisition process for employee integration. Administers LOA programs, processes applicable paperwork and disability claims if needed. Assists employees in handling and processing worker s compensation claims. Responsible for the performance review and merit increase processes. Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; maintain other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations. Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing. Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.

3 Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment. Facilitates training on HR related topics. Responds to the DOL pertaining to unemployment information requests. Participates in various committees within the bank. Keeps abreast of changes in HR law to continue to maintain compliance. Assists on special projects as requested. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE A bachelor s degree and three to five years HUMAN resource experience, or a master s degree in HUMAN resource management and two years experience in the HR field, or seven years of experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience. SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
