After reading this bulletin, you can apply for all scholarships in which you are eligible. 1 SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP NEWSLETTER (2nd Edition 2021-22 ) Attn. Seniors! From now till early April, the guidance staff will be providing you with newsletters which contain SCHOLARSHIP opportunities. After reading this bulletin, you can apply for all scholarships in which you are eligible. 2 It is also important to adhere to the deadlines listed on the SCHOLARSHIP NEWSLETTER not the deadlines listed on the SCHOLARSHIP applications. For most scholarships, the deadlines listed on the NEWSLETTER are in advance of the deadlines on the SCHOLARSHIP applications in order to allow for enough time for the guidance staff to process and mail all materials. Failing to adhere to a deadline on the SCHOLARSHIP NEWSLETTER will result in your application not receiving consideration. All completed applications must be returned to the Guidance Office unless otherwise specified in the NEWSLETTER . Please be aware of special return instructions that may be listed during the time periods in which we are all participating in online learning at home. The guidance staff strongly recommends that students use these newsletters as only one source in their search for financial aid.

3 students should still be contacting colleges regarding SCHOLARSHIP and grant opportunities, as well as applying for state and federal grants and becoming eligible for student loans through completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The 2022-23 FAFSA is currently available for completion on students can also conduct their own independent SCHOLARSHIP search by searching SCHOLARSHIP websites on the internet. (3) Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union (PSECU) SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility: Seniors who are or who become members of the PSECU. To be eligible for this SCHOLARSHIP , the student must be a primary account holder with the PSECU, be a graduating SENIOR , and planning to attend a two or four year college next year.

4 If students are not currently members of the PSECU, they can discover if they are eligible for membership by calling 1-800-237-7328. students must be a member by Dec. 31, 2021. To apply: Criteria: Academic Profile Awards/Honors School/Work/Civic/other activities Employment Essay Award: (6) $2,000 per year renewable scholarships Deadline: February 28, 2022 - Online Submissions Only (6) UNIGO Scholarships Eligibility: High school graduating seniors. students should apply online at: Criteria: SAT/ACT scores GPA and Class Rank Extra- or Co-Curricular Activities Award: Various Scholarships ranging from $1,500-$10,000 Deadline: Varying Deadlines based upon each SCHOLARSHIP ; refer to SCHOLARSHIP website - Online Submissions Only (8) PA Association of Educational Office Professionals (PAEOP)- Hermine Solt Student SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility: High school seniors who are pursuing higher education in a business-related field Applications can be obtained on-line at: Criteria: Scholastic achievement and motivation for higher education Qualities and traits of leadership, citizenship, and service to school and community Financial need Recommendations from business education department member and/or school counselor must accompany application Essay: Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others.

(9) The Northeastern Pennsylvania Council of Teachers of Mathematics 2022 Blair E. Caboot Memorial SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility: Area high school graduating seniors who excel in mathematics and have future plans in a mathematics-related field. Eligible students should apply online at: Criteria: SAT/ACT scores Overall GPA and Class Rank Extra- or Co-Curricular Activities related to Mathematics Letter of Recommendation from a Mathematics Teacher Award: (1) $750 Deadline: March 4, 2022 - Online Submissions Only (10) Pocono Mountain Penn State Club Eligibility: Area high school graduating seniors who will be attending a Penn State University campus in the fall 2022 semester.

6 Eligible schools include East Stroudsburg High Schools (North and South), Pocono Mountain High Schools (East and West), Notre Dame High School, Pleasant Valley High School, and Stroudsburg High School. Criteria: Information reported within application with special attention to those individuals who have demonstrated excellence in one or more extracurricular activities and intend to pursue similar activities at a PSU campus. Award: Those chosen will receive a minimum of $800. Deadline: March 4, 2022 Return directly to the guidance office (11) United Steelworkers of America Hugh Carcella SCHOLARSHIP Program Eligibility: Applicant must be a member or the son, daughter, or legal ward of a United Steelworkers of America, District 10 (Eastern) local union that participates in this SCHOLARSHIP program.

7 students also can be the son, daughter, or legal ward for a disabled, retired, or deceased United Steelworkers member as long as the member left in good standing. All applicants must be pursuing a four-year program at a college or university; however, acceptance to a two-year community college is acceptable if applicant is planning to matriculate toward a four-year Bachelor s degree. Hugh Carcella SCHOLARSHIP applications are only available, upon request, from participating local Steelworkers of America unions. There are no applications for this SCHOLARSHIP in the Guidance Office. The student must also be pursuing a major in an environmental resource/conservation related field.

Criteria: The student w i ll be required to type a 500-word essay (12 font double space) The topic: is an organization which values community service and promotes respect and trust. What are your accomplishments in community service? Describe how your college education w i l l help enhance your community service. A verification letter from the guidance department informing us of your graduation status. Two letters of recommendation from community members or school officials. The recipient must attend a L A M A Pocono Chapter Meeting to read the winning essay and meet the members where the funds w i l l be presented. Attend a L A M A POCONO event in 2022 for recognition and update.
