2 This is especially true where the impeller is exposed to metallic or rustparticles found in steel or iron pipes. As the liquid flow turns the impeller, a lowimpedance square wave signal is transmitted with a frequency proportional to theflow rate. The signal can travel up to 2000' between the flow sensor and the displayunit without the need for amplification. All Sensors except irrigation versions aresupplied with 20' of Belden type 9320 two conductor shielded 220BR (Brass) and220SS (Stainless Steel)SensorThe Model 220B and220SS Sensors are used inmost general flowmeasuring applications inmetallic or non-metallicpipes.

3 The sensor mountsin a 2 NPT pipe saddle or Threadolet for installation in pipesizes from 3 to over 40 . Positioning nuts on the threethreaded retaining rods allow the sensor to be accuratelypositioned to a standard Insertion depth of 1 into the this Insertion depth is maintained, and there is at least 10upstream and 5 downstream diameters of straight uninterruptedflow, an accuracy of +/-1% of full scale can be obtained fromflow velocities of to 30 feet/second ( of readingwithin calibration range).Model 220 PVSThe Data Industrial 220 PVSflow sensor is an insertionstyle flow sensor constructedof non-metallic materials forall wetted parts.
