1 ROCKPORT MUSIC Since 1981, Rockport Music has been committed to enriching lives through great music. Located in the scenic seaport village of Rockport, Massachusetts, Rockport Music presents exceptional musical performances and events year round, including the acclaimed Rockport Chamber Music Festival which began in 1981. Rockport Music also presents classical, jazz, folk and world music as well as film events and HD simulcasts from the Metropolitan Opera and England s National Theater. Shalin LIU Performance Center Opening in June 2010, the Shalin Liu Performance Center (SLPC) is a 330-seat Performance facility with state-of-the-art acoustics and breathtaking ocean views. It was built on the site of the former Haskins Building, a Second Empire Victorian landmark that was built in the 1860 s.

2 The fa ade of SLPC is very similar to the original fa ade of the Haskins Building. Funding for the SLPC was provided through private individual donations, grants, and foundations. Nearly $20 million was raised for the building project which provides a permanent home for the Rockport Chamber Music Festival and other outstanding offerings throughout the year. In addition to the Concert Hall, the Reception Hall on the third floor is a beautiful event space with dramatic ocean vistas available for special occasions including conferences, wedding receptions, and dinners as well as community events. Since its opening in June 2010, there have been over 225 presentations in the Performance hall many of them sell-outs and nearly 100 events in the reception hall.

3 Presenters run the gamut from classical pianist, Peter Serkin, to jazz great, Dave Brubeck, to the 8-year-old prodigy, Gavin George. Grammy-award winner, Paula Cole, is a regular sell-out and Livingston Taylor has regaled audiences with music and stories. 7 That manager has final say in policies and procedures and the renter and their guests o r patrons must comply with the manager s decisio ns. This is required for the health and safety of anyone on the premises as well as minimizing the imposition on the SLPC s neighbors. CONCERT HALL rental GUIDELINES Technical Spe cif ications: Renters must provide Rockport Music with all tec hnical specificatio ns for the event at least 2 weeks prior to the scheduled event. If renter is using an outside audio engineer, renter must all provide the engineer s contact information. Parking Plan: renter must consi der and commit to a parking plan at the time the contract is signed. Sound che ck/rehe arsal: must be completed no less than 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the performanc e in order to allo w patrons to enter and be seated.

8 If the sound check con tinues beyond this point, the Manager-on-Duty has the authority to end the sound check/rehearsal to allo w patrons to enter the Concert Hall. Food/Beverages: Food and beverages are NOT pe rmitte d in the seating area of the Concert Hall. Bottled beverages may be consumed by the performers o n stage. Merchandise: If merc handise is sold on -site, Rockport Music receives of all pro ceeds. This fee includes Rockport Music s commission as well as applicable sales tax. Piano: if the renter is using Rockport Music s Steinway Concert Grand Piano for the Performance , the piano will be tuned within 48 hours prior to the sc heduled start of the event and an additio nal fee w ill be added to the overall bill. Photography/Videotaping: If you plan to have a photo graphe r or videographer on-site for the concert, please ensure that he/she are aware that they sho uld be respectful not to disturb the conc ert attendees.

9 A silent shutter or co nsideration to take pictures betw een piec es is requested. Payment: Renter handling Bo x Office: Final payment to Rockport Music is expected prior to the start of the event. Rockport Music handling Box Office: the settlement check will be MAILED to the presenter within 7 working days after the conclusio n of the event. Rockpo rt Music WILL NOT cut a c heck the day of the performanc e. Box Off ice and Web Site Ser vices: No additional fee: No box office or web servic es. Renters handling their own tic keting for a public event will rec eive a listing on the Rockport Music website calendar; the listing provides a link to the renter s web site. No other mentio n is made on the Rockport Music web site or in printed Rockport Music materials.

T his listing fee includes a full program descriptio n plus photo plus calendar listing. Some events will require spec ific approval for website inclusio n.
