7 The project description in this chapter is based on the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Badli Depot. The Project BAdli Depot is PROPOSED to be developed in an area of 22 ha in village Siraspur of North West delhi . Planning and Design Parameters DMRC has already commissioned the Line 3 of delhi metro . Since this is further extension of existing metro line, the planning and design parameters will be the same as adopted for Indraprastha- Dwarka line of delhi metro . MAINTENANCE DEPOT The Badli maintenance depot along with full workshop facilities has been PROPOSED near Badli metro Station. The area of Depot lies mainly in the village Siraspur of North West delhi .

8 The layout of the Badli Depot is shown in Figure Depot construction includes Civil works for construction of badli depot cum workshop buildings including elevated ramp, plumbing, drainage, external development works etc and road works for badli depot. The Depot include 8 coach stabling lines 12 Nos, Covered stabling lines 185m liong suitable for 8 coach trains 6 Nos. Inspection Bay for 8 coach train, Workshop bay, Repair section, DCO Stores, ETU with inspection pit at ground level and stores and offices above it, Test track of 870m, P. way offices and stores, Pit wheel lathe, Ground storage and Filtration plant, OH Tank, DG sets, Feeding post, Automatic car washing plant, ETP, STP and water treatment plant etc.

9 The location of PROPOSED Badli metro Depot has been shown on Google map in Figure It shows the proximity of the Depot area to Raja Vihar, Village Siraspur and Kanakar Kheda village in addition to Badli. SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT for Badli Depot of delhi metro 2 Figure Layout of PROPOSED Badli Depot Fig Location of PROPOSED Badli Depot OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE OF THE STUDY SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT for Badli Depot of delhi metro 3 In order to enable DMRC to implement appropriate SOCIAL measures by making clear its procedures and criteria for decision making and for meeting the requirements of funding agency, the main objective of the SOCIAL ASSESSMENT is to ensure transparency, predictability and accountability in the present study.

10 The study shall have following objectives: To assess the socio-economic conditions of the families/people likely to be affected due to the PROPOSED Badli Depot of delhi metro , To examine potential positive and negative impacts on the socio-economic condition of people in the project area, To develop appropriate measures to minimise the negative socio-economic impacts, To prepare Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) based on the existing policies, laws and guidelines of the government for the loss caused to the project affected people. The scope of socio-economic study is to include the impacts due to the PROPOSED DMRC development of Badli Depot. Based on the site survey, it will generate socio-economic data about project affected families and prepare an inventory of property.
