5 Surfaces tobe coated should be clean and dry. Remove all oil,grease, mildew of other contamination by solvent ordetergent cleaning or other effective means. Galva-nized Steel - For application to abraded or damagedareas on galvanized metal. Sandblasting (see below) isrecommended for best performance. If blasting is notfeasible, clean and abrade surface by Hand or PowerTool Cleaning (SSPC-SP2 or SP3). Steel - Althoughthis product is designed primarily as a primer for abradedor damaged areas on galvanized metal, it may be usedas a touch up primer on bare steel.

6 For best results,apply only to abrasive blasted steel. For best perfor-mance Near White Blast Cleaning SSPC-SP10 isrecommended as proper preparation. Commercial BlastCleaning SSPC-SP6 is acceptable for less severe ex-posures. Proper blast media and blasting equipmentshall be used to produce an average profile depth of minimum. Do not reuse sand abrasive media. Shotabrasives must be thoroughly clean of contaminationbefore reuse. Remove blasting dust and grit from sur-faces before painting. Blasted surfaces should be coatedwithin 8 hours after blasting or before rusting or othercontamination of the surface : This is a single component COATING .

7 (1) Mixthoroughly with a power agitator to a uniform consis-tency before use. (2) Agitate at slow speed during useto keep zinc dust in suspension. (3) Keep system tightlyclosed and free from : This product is supplied at normal sprayingviscosity. If thinning is necessary thin with up to 1/2 pint75-11 Tec Thinner or 75-15 : Apply by conventional or airless is acceptable for touch up. Keep thematerial pressure pot at or near the level of the material hoses as short as possible (25 feet maxi-mum recommended). Apply at mils wet film thicknesswhich will yield mils dry film : Brush - Use a good quality bristle spray - For pressure feed, use DeVilbissMBC gun with E tip and needle and 704 air cap orequivalent at 40-45 psi atomizing pressure and 10-15 psifluid pressure, 3/8" ID material hose, double regulatedpressure tank with oil and moisture separator.

8 Airlessspray - Minimum of 30:1 ratio pump, .023" " orificetip, 3/8" ID material hose. Special packings may benecessary due to the abrasive nature of the zinc dust inthis : During lunch, breaks or any period of workstoppage, material should be removed from hoses. Re-lease pressure from equipment and flush hoses andequipment with Tec Thinner 75-11 or Xylene 75-15. Donot repressurize equipment until ready to resume : Clean all equipment immediately after usewith Tec Thinner 75-11 or Xylene 75-15. Completelyflush all spray equipment with either of these flushing of spray equipment during the courseof the working day helps prevent buildup and : Recoat time will vary according to curingconditions.

9 Allow a minimum of 8 hours at 75 F and 50%relative humidity before applying any topcoats. Manytopcoats will require that a mist coat be applied prior toapplication of a full coat so that bubbling is : Safe storage, handling and use dictate thatadequate health and safety precautions be observedwith this product and any recommended thinners.
