Products are suppliedpre-stretched on a removable core for efficiency and ease ofinstallation. The removable core unwinds after positioningthe splice, allowing the product to shrink into position andform a moisture resistant seal. The live-memory action of thespecially formulated material ensures a permanent, durableenvironmental seal and 3M medium voltage (15-35 kV) QS-III kits meet therequirements of IEEE-404, and each splice is factory tested onpower cable to ensure long-term reliability and quality. 3M QS-IIIsplices can be used for direct burial applications, as well as inmanholes, vaults, cable trays, and junction boxes.
