3 The findings of the Pennsylvania Grand Jury and the news of abuse by Archbishop McCarrick have devastated the Church in recent weeks and have left many Catholics feeling deeply angry, disturbed, and hurting. Archbishop J. Peter Sartain and auxiliary bishops Eusebio Elizondo and Daniel Mueggenborg invite all the faithful to join in this service in which we will pray for all victims of clergy sexual abuse, ask forgiveness for the sins of action and inaction on the part of Church leaders, and pray for the renewal the Church needs to protect the vulnerable and proclaim Christ's Gospel with transparency and integrity. This service will mark the beginning of a NOVENA OF PRAYER TO MARY, MOTHER OF THE Church , throughout the Archdiocese of Seattle.
